Supplies:
a coffee can with a lid (or any sturdy container you have laying around)
colored paper
markers and crayons
stickers
tape
scissors
Directions:
Cut out colored paper and cover the container of your choice (we used a metal can that was used to hold little cookies left over from Christmas). Let your child explore the scissors while you are there to supervise but help them to cut straight lines if they need it. Then have your child decorate the bank however they want! They might chose to draw pictures of their favorite things or things they may want to save for, glue ribbons or buttons, or put sparkles all over it. Make sure they put their name on it. Then start the saving with some loose change! This was Parker's favorite part- especially since it was a metal can. He played with that bank all morning, shaking his "monies" and dumping the coins out and putting them back in. The last thing to do is find a good place in their room to keep their new bank!
